Internet Security Tools

Internet Filtering Tools and Internet Security Tools have become a fundamental requirement of daily business. Without them, users' mailboxes can be flooded with spam e-mail and also, they may be tempted to to spend valuable company time using Internet resources for non-corporate uses. And how many people do you know that have contracted severely destructive computer viruses from e-mail?

Although figures between surveys vary, one new study finds that with managing e-mail taking up more than an hour of many workers' days, at least 34 percent of messages do not contain any information employees need to do their jobs properly. "We were shocked by the result," said Neil MacDonald, vice president and director of research with Gartner Inc., a research advisory firm in Stamford, Ct. "What this means is a third of that time, or roughly a third, is wasted." Furthermore, in a self-commissioned survey, Gartner asked 330 business e-mail users in a variety of occupations and job titles about the contents of their e-mail in boxes. The company found that the average e-mail user spends 49 minutes managing e-mail on the job each day, and a quarter spend more than an hour a day managing e-mail. Showing a slightly higher figure, a SPAM/UCE Research Initiative report recently said e-mail users estimate 39 percent of all mail they receive each day is junk.

  • iPrism - iPrism is a dedicated internet filtering appliance that helps organizations increase productivity and discourage abusive surfing, optimize network bandwidth, and prevent legal actions resulting from inappropriate surfing.
  • WebMarshal - WebMarshal is an internet access control and monitoring application. It allows your people to harness the power of the Internet while giving management control, and a line of sight on its use.
  • Security Reporting Center - Your firewalls protect your network and the information housed within it from both internal and external attacks. But they also collect a wealth of information stored in their log files—information such as where hacker attacks originate, which employees send the most e-mail, how much bandwidth your organization uses and which employees are accessing inappropriate Websites. Marshal Security Reporting Center analyzes the data in your firewall log files to generate valuable reports. It also helps you optimize the security of your network, ensure that employees use network and Internet privileges appropriately and manage network bandwidth requirements.
