MailMarshal Secure Email Gateway (formerly know as Mailmarshal SMTP) is a total email content security solution for organizations of all sizes. It unifies anti-spam, email threat protection, content security, policy enforcement and data leakage prevention into a highly scalable, flexible and easy-to-manage solution.

MailMarshal is an SMTP email filter designed to act as a gateway between the Internet and your trusted network. MailMarshal Secure Email Gateway supports any SMTP email server such as Lotus Notes, Microsoft Exchange Server or GroupWise.

MailMarshal acts as an email gateway to your organization by filtering all incoming and outgoing email at your network/Internet perimeter. MailMarshal blocks incoming email threats such as spam, phishing, viruses, malware and Denial of Service attacks. MailMarshal also enforces acceptable use policies and ensures compliance with data leakage prevention policies.

MailMarshal can be deployed as a single standalone solution. Or, multiple, geographically distributed MailMarshal servers can be easily configured in an array to support the largest of enterprise environments with minimal administration.

Technical Specifications/Architecture

MailMarshal Secure Email Gateway works automatically, straight out of the box. It is designed to deliver consistently high message throughput and spam and phishing detection upfront while conserving server resources and minimizing administration. Most customers are successful by simply installing it and walking away.

Deployment

MailMarshal Secure Email Gateway is designed to be deployed as the first receiving email gateway in your organization. It is typically deployed in the DMZ between your network firewall and the trusted internal network.

Typical MailMarshal SMTP Installation Scenario

A typical MailMarshal deployment with MailMarshal acting as the email gateway.

MailMarshal can be deployed in a standalone configuration with database logging and the administration console located within your trusted environment. MailMarshal is also specifically designed to support multiple distributed mail processing servers configured in an array. The array is managed centrally by the MailMarshal Array Manager which can control and manage multiple nodes. Administration can be performed locally or remotely via the MailMarshal Web Console.
