Instant Messaging(IM) is a rapidly growing electronic communications medium, that grew mainly from home use. Corporate use of IM is currently growing rapidly and many business uses for this medium are being identified and the benefits are being realized.  IM is poised to replace some uses of email that were not very effective given the inherent delays within email.  While no one believes IM will replace email, it does appear that the future of electronic communications will likely include both IM and email.  Instant Messaging does however, carry with it many of the same issues of security, manageability, content management and compliance as does email.  The applications below will address many of these issues.
